f l o r a : New Store Front Open for Business

A new floral boutique has popped up on Haywood Road in the heart of West Asheville!  Within the walls of this bright, buttoned-up, brick-and-mortar shop you'll find an abundance of fresh flowers sittin' pretty, and ready to be wrapped up for you in butcher paper and baker's twine.  Living arrangements of succulents and plant terrariums line the windows and take advantage of the sunlight shining in.  The new Flora storefront is a branch of Flora Events, which has been doing wedding and event floral design for several years now in the Asheville area.  In addition to the items in the storefront, they offer custom arrangements and flower delivery!  Stop by if you're in need of a wedding florist, some creative inspiration, or Mother's Day flowers!

Carolyn + Casey: Mountain Weddings

Carolyn and Casey chose to have a near-by destination wedding, and said the big “I Do” on The Farm in Summertown, TN.   The gorgeous, meadows offered a picturesque landscape for their big day, and complimented the style and the smiles of this beautiful couple perfectly!  The flowers celebrated spring in hues of whites and yellows, with soft touches of dusty miller to complement their radiant color.  They were blessed with a beautiful day for their home-spun affair, and took advantage of the spring sunshine by enlisting some competition amongst their guests with backyard games of corn hole and croquet.  It was truly a family affair, and we at Flora couldn’t have been more proud to be a part of such a grand celebration!  Cheers to the springtime!

Intimate Outdoor Wedding: Alyssa Boyd & Brian Fouch

Alyssa and Brian chose to have an outdoor wedding on her parents property in historic Waynesville, Ohio in the early fall. While the day turned into a worrisome forecast (rain, wind and dark clouds!) Alyssa and Brian made the best of the situation with tents and rainy day coverage while still allowing their guests to “feel at home” on the acreage. The bride got ready in her own bedroom, doing her own hair and makeup. The first look came just as the clouds broke to allow for beautiful golden afte-the-rain light, just in time for the bride and groom portraits. The ceremony site was held on top of a hill on the acreage with a tent overlooking the picturesque fields surrounding the property. Guests sat on bails of hay. The ceremony ended with fireworks and everyone watching from the ceremony tent. After the ceremony, guests were directed to another tent by the main house where Alyssa's thoughtfully crafted details awaited them like burlap enhanced table settings and a serve yourself candy bar with keepsake mason jars for guests to fill from labeled jars of family members and the bride and groom's favorite candy
